Hello,

I’m LD Lumpkin and thank you for checking out our site.

Finding and choosing the “right” counselor can seem like an overwhelming task. With that in mind, let me introduce myself. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor. I have over 30 years of counseling experience. I grew up in Texas and moved to Lake Havasu City in 1995 to create and manage an outpatient substance abuse treatment program at Havasu Samaritan Regional Hospital. I also provided general counseling services. In 2006 I opened my private practice.

Some people only know me as a substance abuse counselor. While I have extensive training in the management and treatment of addictions, addiction treatment only makes up a small part of my practice. I also provide counseling services for anxiety, mood disorders, Couples/Relational issues, PTSD, sexual addictions, parenting, grief and loss as well as stress management.

I have been an adjunct instructor in the counseling departments of community colleges here in Arizona and in Texas. I am accredited by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners to be a supervisor. As a supervisor I monitor the progress of new counselors while they obtain the necessary experience to become fully licensed.

I have worked extensively with suicidal individuals. I worked at, managed, provided training and been on the Board of Directors for crisis lines here in Arizona and in Texas.

I have been a psychiatric consultant at Havasu Regional Medical Center for over 20 years managing patients who present in a psychiatric emergency.

I am married and have four kids. I enjoy the desert life here in Lake Havasu.

I’m a Christian and am active in church.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.
